The Experience Summer Camp is expected to be allowed to use Millennium Park free of charge next summer.
Bancroft’s Committee of the Whole will be recommending council work in partnership with North Hastings Children Services to provide the camp for youth through the use of the park and Club 580.
NHCS provided information to the committee at its meeting yesterday.
This past summer, the free camp saw over 250 kids between the ages of 5 and 12, from 137 families, take part.
It also employed 19 youth from the North Hastings area, and boosted the local economy by about $65,000.
