A Youth Rugby Club may soon be coming to Bancroft.
A delegation presented information about the possibility of creating a club to Bancroft council yesterday, which would be called the Bancroft Blackflies.
The club would start as an under 18 team for girls, with the hope it will be able to grow to include boys teams as well, and possibly adult teams eventually.
The delegation says it has also found some sponsorship to mitigate the cost for youth, which might also mean a new digital scoreboard and seating for the field at North Hastings High School.
The group did not ask council for money, but for a letter of support, which councillors unanimously approved.
