Flood warning issued for Madawaska and York rivers

The York and Madawaska rivers are now under a flood warning.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says flooding is expected in low-lying areas near the rivers. That’s because water levels could continue to rise because of rain and melting snow.

The MNRF is reminding you to be cautious near any fast moving waterways, and for washouts on forest access roads.

A flood watch is still in effect for the Burnt and Black rivers, and a flood outlook statement is in place for the rest of the Bancroft area.
