OPP urges safety on local waterways

Police are warning you to be extremely cautious if you’re going boating at this time of year.

Because of recent flooding across Eastern Ontario, the OPP says many local waterways could still have high water levels and fast currents. Floating and submerged debris could also be dangerous to you.

Police also want you to be careful for rocks under the water’s surface which could damage your boat and hurt those on board. You are being urged not to drink while boating.
