A brief but damaging storm system that rolled through the area last night is responsible for thousands of people across the Bancroft area being without power this morning.
It seems to be the hardest hit area in the province.
Hydro One is reporting that around 9,000 local customers are affected by a power outage.
At this point it appears that some may be in the dark until as late as 10 o’clock tonight.
