St. Martin of Tours Catholic School in Whitney has been recognized for promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The Ontario Physical and Health Education Association, or OPHEA, has recognized the school for a program introduced to help students be more health-conscious.
Junior Intermediate Teacher Kelly Ronholm says the school focused on teaching students about healthy eating, which was possible with a little help from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit.
Ronholm says the change in students has been amazing.
St. Martin of Tours is one of six schools part of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board to receive OPHEA recognition.
