City councillor to give up car for Belleville Bike Month

June is Belleville Bike Month and one city councillor is taking the pledge to go vehicle-free.

Belleville councillor and Hastings Prince Edward Public Health board member Egerton Boyce has committed to only cycling for local commutes in June.  He says there are many reasons for his choice to do so, including: becoming healthier, going green and getting a better understanding of cycling challenges in the city.  During this time, Boyce will be using a bicycle sponsored by a Belleville business.

Our local health unit wants you to get involved too by choosing to cycle more next month and participating in events across the city.  Check out our website for more information.
