For some people, today will be their first time giving blood at a clinic in Bancroft today.
Director of donor relations for the Canadian Blood Services Michael Betel says there is a need for blood, and asks people who have never donated to consider it.
Betel says there will be a quick check-up to make sure you’re able to give.
Betel says that after Christmas and before New Year’s is a difficult time for the service, and says they can use everyone’s help in preparation for it.
He reminds everyone to come prepared with proper identification and to eat and drink before donating.
