A Trillium Grant of $193,300, spread over 36 months, will be given to the Bancroft Area Forest Industry Association (BAFIA). The grant is to help fund public education on sustainable living, through the careful use of natural resources. The grant monies will also support the development of a sustainability checklist for rural property owners. These property owners would then be able to assess their greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. Workshops for students will also be held, to demonstrate how to decrease one’s carbon footprint.
