Olympians Named to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame

Four Canadian Olympians who have been named to the Sports Hall of Fame have received congratulations from the Canadian Olympic Committee. The eight Canadian athletes and builders, who will make up the class of 2014, include Olympians: Horst Bulau, Pierre Harvey, Geraldine Heaney and Elizabeth Manley. The president of the Canadian Olympic Committee said that their contributions to our sporting history are being rewarded with this honour, ensuring they will never be forgotten. Sarah Burke, four-time Winter X-Games champion was also named to this year’s list. Burke died in 2012 after a fall during a training run. She has been credited for successfully lobbying the IOC to include half pipe skiing at the 2014 Olympic Games.
