Hastings County has officially declared a commitment to incorporate health in all municipal policies. The Declaration was adopted at the April 24th Council meeting. Warden Rick Phillips says that Hastings County Council has recognized that Health in All Policies is an important consideration in building healthy communities. Hastings County residents have shown strong support for opportunities for healthy living in areas such as: Access to healthy local food, Recreation spaces with affordable, accessible and engaging recreation programming and Investments in active transportation, trail development and safe cycling paths. The Healthy Communities Partnership is calling on all municipalities in Hastings and Prince Edward counties to adopt the Declaration.
