The Art Gallery of Bancroft has opened its 32nd Annual Juried Exhibition, accommodating a variety of categories of works. There were over twelve new artist entries this year. The juror this year was Susan Dunlop. Ms. Dunlop is a local painter who has been featured in the Gallery in past shows. She is a graduate of Napier University in Edinburgh Scotland. Susan described the entries as “fabulous” to review and as art is objective, she stressed four categories for her review: Technical Merit, Creative Ideas, Medium Choice and Presentation. This year’s David B. Milne Award for “Best of Show” went to Hillary Phillips for a 3D piece entitled “Shrouds.” Dunlop described the piece, in part, as “paganistic.” All the results are available at the Gallery website: www.artgallerybancroft.ca. The show is on at the Art Gallery of Bancroft until May 25th.
