Bancroft OPP is reporting a successful Prescription Drug Drop Off Day last Saturday. Police say they collected 21 grams of medications and 2000 grams of veterinary medications for destruction. Members of the Community Drug Action Team, Bancroft OPP and Bancroft OPP Auxiliary set up at the Hastings Highlands Municipal Office, Post Office in the Town of Bancroft and the Cardiff Community Center to allow people to drop off unused or expired medications. Bancroft OPP Detachment Commander S/Sgt Mark Wolfe says the program was a great success and that the safety of the community and its members remain a primary focus for the OPP. You are reminded that any unwanted, unused or expired prescription medications can be safely disposed of anytime of the year at most pharmacies.
