Some areas in Algonquin Park are still off-limits as the spring thaw continues, pushing back their scheduled opening date.
However, campgrounds such as Rock Lake, Mew Lake, Tea Lake and Kiosk are now open, with the Kiosk Ranger Cabin opening today.
Park officials say many back country campsites along with most ranger cabins and portages remain closed and are tentatively scheduled to be open by May 4th.
Quite a few roads into the interior of the park are closed because of deep snow or soft muddy conditions.
