Haliburton OPP Busy on Victoria Day Weekend

Haliburton OPP were busy this past May long weekend with approximately 68 calls for service ranging from numerous noise and animal complaints to family disputes and domestic occurrences. Late Saturday evening officers were called to a disturbance at a cottage near Eagle Lake. An intoxicated man was arrested and taken to the detachment. The 28 year-old Peterborough man has been charged with Failing to Comply with Probation Order.

On Sunday, Haliburton OPP responded to an ATV collision on Journeys End Trail in Highlands East. Police determined that a 12 year-old boy had been driving a 75cc ATV when the front wheel assembly malfunctioned and the ATV went into a ditch. The boy had to be taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
