Haliburton OPP was busy this past May long weekend with their RIDE checks. They caught two drivers accused of impaired driving on Saturday. At 8:10 a.m. officers stopped a 2013 Ford Pickup truck for erratic driving on Highway 35 near Miners Bay. The 37 year-old male driver from Whitby was arrested and charged with Driving with a Blood/Alcohol Level Over 80. Then 8:30 p.m. police stopped a 2014 Hyundai Tucson on Boundary Road near County Road 121. The 28 year-old woman driver from Haliburton was arrested and charged with Driving with a Blood/Alcohol Level Over 80 and Possession of a Marihuana. Both drivers had their licences was suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
