Three Stunting Speeders Caught in Minden

Haliburton OPP laid three separate speed/stunting charges on Saturday afternoon, all in Minden Hill Township. First they stopped a 2014 Hyundai Genesis on Highway 118 near One Mile Drive. The car was traveling at 160 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver, a 33 year-old man from Vaughan was charged with: Stunting/Racing a Motor Vehicle and Driving with Expired Validation stickers. Then a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup was stopped on Highway 35 south of Miners Bay for driving at 131 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The 21 year-old male driver from Toronto was charged with: Stunting/Racing a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Produce a Licence. Finally, officers stopped a 2005 Cadillac CTS on Highway 35 near Starlight Road that was clocked at 144 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The 19 year-old Richmond Hill man driving was charged with Stunting/Racing a Motor Vehicle. All three men had their driver’s licences suspended for seven days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
