C-Difficile at Belleville General Hospital

C-Difficile has appeared at Belleville General Hospital. Five patients have been diagnosed with the bacteria. None of the cases are considered to be life threatening. Doctor Dick Zoutmann, Chief of Staff at BGH, says they are calling it an outbreak, only because there have been so few cases over the last eight months at the hospital. Three of the four “cells” of the hospital have been affected. C-Difficile can cause severe diarrhea and if left untreated can be life threatening.
