Plane Crash at Peterborough Airport

A 62 year-old pilot has walked away from a crash at Peterborough Airport. Peterborough County OPP report that on Saturday morning a small Vans 2010 Model RV9A aircraft crashed approximately 300 metres from the airstrip. The plane had just taken off when it experienced engine problems. The pilot turned around and began an emergency landing procedure when the engine stalled and the aircraft fell short of the airstrip. Fire Personnel and Emergency Medical Services also responded to the crash site, and the pilot, who suffered only minor injuries, was taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Transport Canada has been notified of the crash.
