Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings will be receiving a cheque for $5,000 from The Royal Bank of Canada this Thursday, June 12th. The cheque is as a result of a grant and funds that were allocated through the partnership with the Royal Bank of Canada Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Canada. Habitat for Humanity-Prince Edward-Hastings will use 100% of the money to refurbish a Habitat home to be sold to a new Habitat family, and will work alongside employees of the local RBC Branches during the Royal Bank of Canada Build Day. A new build in Bancroft is being considered, as was reported in Bancroft Town Council last week. Prince Edward-Hastings Habitat for Humanity has built 14 homes helping 15 families and is an independent, not for profit, housing program dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing by building homes in partnership with families in need.
