Liberal Majority in Ontario;P.C. Wins Local Ridings

It is a majority government for the incumbent Liberals in Ontario. Picking up 58 seats, the Liberals come out ahead of the Conservatives who grabbed just 27 seats and the NDP, who took 22. In the Prince Edward-Hastings riding Todd Smith had a solid lead throughout the night to hold on to his seat over Liberal Georgina Thompson. In the surrounding ridings, the P.C.s took all the seats. In Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock, Laurie Scott was returned, Randy Hillier was solid for Lanark, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington and John Yakabuski walked away with the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke riding.
