A camping trip turned ugly over the weekend and charges have been laid. Police say that a couple was camping in the Consecon area of Prince Edward County, when they got into an argument. As he was leaving the argument, the male suspect allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and damaged a car. He left the area, while the victim went to a near- by home looking for help. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries. An arrest was made a few hours later in Belleville. A 20 year-old Quinte West man is facing charges of: Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Uttering Threats, Mischief under $5000 and Breach of Probation.
