The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), East Region is reminding anyone who is heading out for a “good time” with friends or family to make sure it stays that way by planning ahead. So far this year, officers have attended 15 fatal crashes, three as a direct result of drinking and driving. Every year, the OPP attend preventable crashes that cause havoc on our roads and devastation for family and friends. Make sure you know how you’re going to get home safely, don’t cause unnecessary hardship to anyone else. Plan your entire evening and make arrangement to get home by calling a cab, using a designated driver, or stay the night. Remember, police conduct RIDE programs every day at all times of the day and night.
