Province passes new coyote and wolf hunting laws

Ontario is closing the hunting and trapping season of all wolves and coyotes in the Algonquin Provincial Park.

It is now illegal to hunt the canines in the park, along with the Kawartha Highlands Park, Killarney Provincial Park, and the Queen Elizabeth Wildlands Park.

The province is trying to protect the Algonquin Wolf, which is classified as threatened.

However, hunters are able to trap the animals in non-protected areas of the province.
