Matt Duchene Day This Sunday in Haliburton

Haliburton’s Matt Duchene is being recognized with an official Matt Duchene Day on Sunday. The McLay Experience will start the day with music in the Bandshell from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Then a short parade, with the OPP and Dysart Fire Department, leading Matt from Selbie’s office, up the 118 to Highland Street, and then down into the Band Shell area. It’s hoped that there will be a lot of Canadian Flags along the route. Matt will address the crowd, and then sign autographs and pose for photographs. A banquet is planned at the Pinestone resort, with a “Meet and Greet” at 5:30 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 each, with $25 from each ticket going to the following kid’s charities: Food for Kids, Jump Start and Point in Time. After dinner the Duchene family experience at the winter Olympics will be featured. Haliburton Moose FM’s Rick Lowes will be the evening’s M.C.
