In her opening remarks at Tuesday’s Council meeting, her worship Mayor Jenkins thanked Tracy McGibbon and her volunteers for all their efforts in making Canada Day a success, despite all the rain. She also thanked the members of council who provided the Canada Day cakes and the Bancroft Legion for their contribution. In her remarks, the Mayor noted the retirement of Dr. Calder. Councillor Mullet moved that a letter of thanks be sent to Dr. Calder for his many years of service. The motion was adopted.
Council also recognized the efforts of the BBIA, Chris Drost, Deputy Mayor Wayne Wiggins, town staff and the many others who made the Wheels, Water and Wings event a big success. It was noted the Mayor Bernice Jenkins was this year’s winner of the Amateur Rib Contest.
