Much debate followed a motion to create a by-law controlling and licensing garage and like sales within the town of Bancroft. The proposed by-law mirrors one that has been in place for the Ward of Dungannon for a number of years. Councillors were concerned about how the by-law would be enforced, by whom. The by-law would limit such sales to two per calendar at any given address and require a $10 permit to be purchased in advance. After some discussion, the proposed by-law was sent back to staff for review and re-writing.
