Ban Lotto Sales at Stores that Sell Drug Paraphernalia

The Ontario Safety League is calling on Ontario’s Provincial Parliament to pass a law prohibiting convenience stores that sell bongs, drug pipes, pill grinders and other drug paraphernalia from selling lottery tickets. An investigation conducted this spring by the Ontario Safety League found that convenience stores routinely sell drug paraphernalia to teenagers. Ontario Safety League President and CEO Brian Patterson says that store clerks didn’t even bat an eye at those teenagers purchasing pipes and bongs clearly meant for smoking drugs like crack and marijuana, or pill grinders, which make it possible to use powerful prescription narcotics by syringe.
