A Maynooth woman, who will be traveling out to B.C. to donate a kidney so that her sister can get a kidney transplant, will get a lot of financial help from her community. A fundraising event “Teena’s Journey” was held at the Arlington Hotel on Saturday evening. Organizers say that over 100 people attended and more than $5,500 was raised. The money will help to pay for the cost of Teena Sills and her husband to stay in B.C. while recovering from the surgery. There is no fixed date yet for the surgery as it will involve a total of five people receiving a kidney transplant and that take time to plan.
