Drinking and driving charges were laid against 57-year-old Bancroft man on Tuesday. His vehicle was stopped by police on Cleak Avenue, where the officer determined he was under the influence. The accused failed a breathalyser test and was taken into custody. He received a further charge of driving without insurance. He was released by police and now faces an August court date.
