The Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has come in support of an Expert Panel recommendation that Health Canada provide the public with more information about radio-frequency energy, and the safe use of wireless technology. According to a recent national survey more than half of Canadian teachers are concerned about the lack of information from school boards to teachers, students and parents about wireless technology. At Health Canada’s request, the Expert Panel was convened to review proposed changes to current safety codes. The report concluded that no additional measures were needed, but did include a number of recommendations calling for continued research. The report is currently being reviewed by Health Canada.
