Collision Sends Driver to Hospital and Takes Out Power Lines

Peterborough County OPP has reported that a collision on Highway 7 involving a Tractor Trailer hauling loose aggregates. Police say that the tractor-trailer lost control, entered a ditch, rolled onto its side and hit a hydro pole. The collision pinned the driver inside. The driver, a 34 year-old Havelock man, was airlifted to a Toronto hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The OPP has closed Highway 7 between County Road 38 and County Road 34 and traffic is being rerouted. Power in the area has been affected and is expected to be out until this afternoon. The collision is still under investigation.
