E-bike Operator Charge with Impaired

Riding an e-bike while impaired has resulted in charges being laid. On Sunday afternoon Peterborough County OPP stopped the operator of an E-bike when he appeared not to be in good control of the vehicle. The 44 year-old North Kawartha Township man, who was driving the bike in full motor mode along Burleigh Street in Apsley, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having a blood/alcohol level over 80. Police also found over 30 grams of marijuana in the drivers backpack and an additional charge was added. The suspect is to appear in court in October.
