The OPP will be targeting motorists who talk on cell phones, text or engage in other forms of distraction while driving this coming long weekend. The OPP is dedicating ten unmarked police vehicles to the task over the Labour Day Long Weekend. Thirty-five (35) people have died so far this year where distracted driving was a contributing factor. In 2013, 86 people died in distraction-related collisions. That was more than impaired and speeding deaths combined.
