Two men charged in Bancroft for driving while suspended

The Bancroft OPP has charged an Oshawa man for driving while suspended.

The man was pulled over during a RIDE checkpoint early Wednesday morning. Police say officers determined the 36-year-old’s licence had been suspended, which he was charged for. He also faces charges for failing to apply for a permit, and driving without insurance.

Bancroft OPP reminds you that while RIDE checkpoints are mainly used to target impaired drivers, officers will also check for all other driving offences as well.

Police have also charged a Wollaston man for driving while suspended.

It happened on the afternoon of April 24th on Hastings Street North in Bancroft. Police say the man was pulled over, which is when officers found out his licence had been suspended.

The 55-year-old now faces a charge for that, along with not carrying a valid permit, failing to notify about a change of address, and driving without insurance.

During that same week, 31 tickets were also handed out in the Bancroft area for driving offences.
