The North Hastings Fire Service is reminding you it’s illegal to use or sell flying lanterns in Hastings Highlands.
Fire Prevention Officer Matt Musclow says Hastings Highlands Council banned flying lanterns because there are risks to using them.
Musclow says, if you’re caught selling or using a flying lantern, you can face a fine of up to $2,000.
