The OPP teamed up with Tim Hortons this past weekend to provide an opportunity for young people to go to camp, who would not otherwise have had a chance to experience camping. Eighty youths from across the province were brought to the Tim Horton Memorial Camp in Parry Sound for three days. They were between ten and fourteen years of age. Each camper was fully sponsored by the OPP and Tim Hortons. There were 11 OPP mentor volunteers along with qualified Tim Horton Youth Foundation counsellors. The partnership of the OPP and Tim Hortons is aimed at positive youth development and relationship building between police and youth.
