The Haliburton Health Unit Says Think Health During the Municipal Election

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit wants voters to consider candidates stands on the health of the community and its members when making their decisions in the upcpoming municipal election. The Health Unit has launched the campaign “#RethinkHealth” to promote the idea that decisions made by, and services provided by, local governments greatly affect the health of people in the community. They also say that along with access to health care and services, other factors like income, housing, education, employment, social support networks, physical activity and healthy child development also affect people’s health and well-being. The Health Unit is asking all elected candidates to take “health equity” into account for any decisions they make on municipal council.
