Haliburton area pet owners are being encouraged to get their dogs and cats vaccinated against rabies at a clinic taking place on Saturday, October 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the Haliburton Fire Hall. Haliburton Veterinary Services is holding this rabies vaccination clinic. Cost is just $25 per animal, cash only. You are reminded that dogs need to be on leashes and cats should be in a carrier. The rabies virus attacks the nerves and brain and people can get rabies if bitten, scratched or even licked by a rabid animal. Untreated, rabies is fatal and for that reason it is mandatory for all dogs and cats in the area to get rabies vaccinations.
