A severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch are now both in effect for the Bancroft area.
Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms will likely develop early this evening, which could produce a tornado, damaging winds, torrential rain, and large hail.
The weather agency is urging you to take cover if threatening weather approaches.
In the event of a tornado, get inside, go to the lowest floor, and stay away from outside walls and windows.
