Members of local Algonquin communities are being asked for input leading up to provincial land transfers.
With some provincial lands and assets on them set to be transferred to Algonquin ownership, the province needs to evaluate potential environmental impacts that might have. The province also needs to establish proposed municipal planning designations and zoning for the lands once they are transferred.
Members of the Algonquin communities in Bancroft and Whitney can find out more about the Algonquin Land Claim Draft Environmental Evaluation Report at an upcoming meeting. It’s happening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on August 24th at the Lake St. Peter Community Centre.
