Severe thunderstorms could strike Bancroft today

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Bancroft area.

The weather agency says dangerous thunderstorms could develop today, which could produce torrential rain, strong wind, and hail.

Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, while heavy rain could cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. You are being reminded to take cover if threatening weather approaches.

These severe thunderstorms are expected to wrap up late this afternoon or early this evening.
