Rethink Your Drinking to Reduce Your Health Risks

Your local health unit wants you to take control over how much alcohol you drink. The Hastings and Prince Edward Health Unit has launched a campaign to promote Canada’s “Low-Risk” drinking guidelines. The Health Unit says that alcohol consumption has been found to cause more than 200 different diseases and injuries and following the guidelines could help reduce these illnesses and injuries. Here are Canada’s Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines:

Have no more than 10 drinks per week if you are a woman and 15 drinks per week for men.

You should plan non-drinking days every week to avoid developing a habit.

Women should not drink more than 3 drinks on any one occasion

Men should limit single occasion drinks to 4.
