Sexting, the sending of sexually explicit photos or text messages by phone, may be practiced by many teens without realizing those pictures may be considered child pornography. Police in Renfrew are investigating a case where a student’s cellphone was taken by a school official and found to contain such photos. If those photos are shared that may be considered distributing child pornography. Parents are urged to discuss this issue with their children and discourage the practice. The school will not be identified to protect the identities of those involved.
