Local MP Daryl Kramp says he will continue to stand for law-abiding hunters, farmers and sport-shooters, after the federal government announced the Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act. The legislation is said to simplify and clarify the firearms regulations. Some of the amendments to both the Firearms Act and Criminal Code would create a six-month grace period at the end of the five-year licence period and convert all existing Possession Only Licences (POLs) to Possession and Acquisition Licences (PALs). There will also be mandatory firearms safety training for first-time licence applicants. More information can be found at our website moosefm.com.
