As we head into colder months, the North Hastings Fire Service wants to make sure your cottage is winter-ready.
Fire Prevention Officer Matt Musclow says it’s important to check your furnace and chimney, especially if you plan to keep coming up throughout the winter.
Musclow also reminds cottagers to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Musclow says it’s also important to make sure your cottage’s 911 numbers are visible so emergency services can find you quickly and efficiently.
You are also being reminded that daytime burning restrictions are still in effect between 7:00am and 7:00pm until October 31st.
