Last part of police interview with Borutski shown in court

Basil Borutski told police he felt sorry about the deaths of three Madawaska Valley women.

The last part of a five-hour interview between Borutski and police taken the day after the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzik and Nathalie Warmerdam was shown in court today.

In the video, Borutski claims he ‘would have stopped’ if the victims had apologized or stopped lying for what he perceived as their mistruths against him. He also told police he had planned to take his own life but didn’t, deciding in his own mind he was innocent and wouldn’t get to Heaven.

Borutski still refuses to take part in the trial against him, and hasn’t entered a plea or retained a lawyer. A not guilty plea has been entered on his behalf.

The trial will continue tomorrow.
