Drivers reminded to be extra cautious for wildlife

Police are reminding you to always keep an eye out for wildlife while driving.

Killaloe OPP Constable Catherine Yarmel says it’s important to be extra careful while wildlife is most active.

The OPP is also reminding you that deer rarely travel alone.

Yarmel says it’s important to never assume that an animal will move out of your way.

The OPP recommends not veering for deer, because swerving to avoid them could cause you to lose control.

Last week alone, the Bancroft OPP detachment responded to six calls about collisions with animals.
