With winter right around the corner, the Haliburton Highlands OPP is reminding you that driving conditions can change quickly and unexpectedly.
Constable Dianna Dauphinee wants drivers to get their vehicles winter ready before the snow starts falling.
She also says it’s important to have an emergency kit in your vehicle. It should include a charged phone, water, non-perishable food, a flashlight, blanket, warm clothes, jumper cables, a shovel, candles, and a lighter or matches.
Dauphinee also says you’ll need to adjust your driving habits for the winter months.
She also reminds drivers to never pass a snow plow, and keep a safe distance when they see blue flashing lights.
Drivers are also asked not to contact police to find out about road conditions. You can find information about road conditions by clicking here.
