Haliburton’s health unit encourages parents to use positive discipline

Parents are being reminded that punishing their kids may not be the best way to correct unwanted behaviour.

That’s the message from the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, which says yelling, spanking, threatening, and shaming kids can have a lasting negative impact on them. The health unit says these punishments will make kids think it’s okay to act that way.
